About Us

I was drawn to golden retrievers for many of the same reasons you may be drawn to them -- their agreeable nature, fun personalities, beautiful coats, and keen intelligence alongside a general air of goofiness. The journey to my first reputably bred golden was long, but I wouldn't change a thing about it because it gave me Harper Grace. 

I started Golden Hour Golden Retrievers to give families something I always dreamed of: pleasing, biddable, sound, and structurally correct golden retrievers with a long health and life span. All dogs in my breeding program have passing OFA clearances (including annual eye exams after they retire) as well as full genetic testing.

My personal goldens train and compete (if they enjoy it) in conformation, agility, obedience, and fieldwork. For fun, we do therapy work, dock diving, and FastCAT. Head to Our Goldens page to see lots of pictures of each one!

When I'm not playing with goldens, I'm an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Florida directing the HEART Lab.
